Lab Informatics/Systems Analyst III

Responsibilities: Support existing and new Laboratory Information Systems, including NuGenesis Scientific Data Management System (SDMS), Waters Empower Chromatography system (HPLC), and Applied Biosystems Analyst (LC/MS). Provide administration support for laboratory instrumentation systems. Work with vendors to provide support, including system upgrades. Assist with configuring data backups. Manage system upgrade projects. Work with Validation to maintain systems in a compliant state. Train users on IT-specific protocols, including Citrix connectivity. Provide administration support for the NuGenesis SDMS: add instruments to system. Train end users. Assist with LIMS interface. Write Standard Operating Procedures, maintain system documentation, and assist in writing system proposals and validation documentation as required. Work with Information Technology and Validation departments as appropriate to support, upgrade and validate systems. Write, review and execute validation protocols as part of the laboratory instrumentation validation efforts.


Requirements: 4-year degree in a science-related discipline (preferably in Chemistry or Biology) or Computer Science. Experience with administering laboratory instrumentation systems, such as HPLC, LC/MS, FTIR, UV/VIS, plate readers, gamma counters, etc. Experience administering an SDMS, such as Cerity (Cyberlab) or NuGenesis. 5 years experience working in a laboratory environment within a regulated industry (preferably pharmaceutical). Experience with interfacing laboratory instruments and LIMS.Experience supporting Pharmaceutical Product Development, Preclinical, and Research departments.Working knowledge of analytical applications utilized in the laboratory. Working knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic programming language, Citrix, and Empower. Knowledge of Oracle database management or client/server technology. Knowledge of computer systems validation and FDA GLP/GMP regulations.A thorough knowledge of computers, laboratory instrumentation, validation and networking technology.Ability to establish solid working relationships with multiple departments. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Strong verbal/written communication skills with experience in validation/documentation.
