Lead Data Warehouse ETL Developer

Assume senior team lead role in the design, development, testing and deployment of data warehouse and data mart solutions. This position is responsible for dimensional modeling and design, development of extract, transformation and load (ETL) processes and translating business requirements into optimized data storage systems.  This position will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of Cendant Hotel Group's enterprise data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives, including data modeling, ETL development, and business intelligent implementation. Additionally, this role will be involved with: ?  Providing technical support for the enterprise data warehouse, including the development of enhancement requests and defect resolution?  Providing technical leadership and vision for the data warehouse initiatives?  Working closely with the business team members to support and grow the CHG enterprise data warehouse data warehouse Specific Responsibilities:? Provide technical team leadership on multiple Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart and data warehouse projects.? Coordinate with IS Business Relationship team and business partners in the creation of Business Intelligence functional requirements.? Develop high level and detail designs for Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart and data warehouse projects.? Create source to target data mapping documents.? Lead Informatica ETL developers in the creation of mappings and workflows? Provide guidance and specifications to developers for the maintenance and enhancement of custom ETL code using SQL and C? Responsible for the development of system test plans, test case creation, monitoring progress of specific testing activities against plan, and successfully completing testing activities within the requisite project timeframes? Coordinate with Business Analysis and Reporting team to insure data model designs support business reporting tools.? Coordinate with HIT Architecture to insure data model designs support data standards ? Coordinate with Quality Assurance and other development groups to support end-to-end testing? Monitor, manage and report on development progress and status? Perform second line on-call support functions for existing production ETL processes, as necessary? Develop data extracts to support specific applications such as Campaign Management? Participates with clients, internal and external development organizations to define software requirements for development, maintenance and/or improvements? Designs and documents database software by preparing diagrams, logic charts and programming specifications as required by Cendant Life cycle development methodology.? Develops programs based upon Design Documents? Prepares test plans and test data for use during the QA process? Adjusts programs to accommodate errors and change requests? Co-ordinate & implement ETL projects using an Offshore model?   Strong performance tuning experience using Informatica ETL & DB2 SQLs.? Working knowledge of XML, data file encryption & Informatica security integration



Four-year degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems or a related field ? Minimum of 5 years experience in data warehouse development ? Knowledgeable with both Entity Relational Models, and Dimensional Models. ? Knowledge of SQL? Strong Understanding of  the ETL Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools and their use ? Working knowledge of the Business Intelligence (BI, OLAP, ROLAP) tools.? Understands business issues and requirements as well as database technology? Hands on experience using Informatica PowerCenter ETL tool, Trillium and Erwin Data Modeling tool.  ? Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently? Advanced skills with standard query language (SQL) in Oracle and with unix shell script development? Experience with software development using C or C++ languages? Experience with system development life cycle and source code control? Excellent written and oral communication skills and business savvy? Strong business orientation and respect within the business community? Experience with Business Reporting, multi-dimensional analysis and decision support systems preferred? Experience with developing ETL code using Informatica PowerCenter required? Must thoroughly understand data warehousing concepts, such as data modeling, data quality, ETL and Query & Reporting.
