Lead Database Architect- Developer

Kforce is seeking a Lead Database Architect/Developer to lead the design and implementation of Oracle databases supporting new and existing client applications. This position is responsible for the design, maintenance, software control, and release of relational databases for supporting project delivery, production systems, and business development activities. The Developer will be project planning and supplying task estimates which are essential to supporting these database development efforts. The Developer will provide technical and architectural guidance in adding or updating business logic implemented in the database. There will be a significant amount of business logic implemented in the database using triggers and stored procedures as well as hands-on development and overseeing multiple teams (1-3 members each) of database developers in completing project tasks. The Lead Developer provides design and technical assistance to team members and interacts with customers to develop project requirements (resolving production issues and providing general support). This position provides marketing support for proposals and demonstrations to potential customers. The Developer will support staff development to include junior staff/intern mentoring and evaluation of candidate new hires/contractors. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience to include experience in designing and supporting large-scale databases that are 1-10+ GB in size. Advance knowledge and experience in using PL/SQL for implementing data-intensive and complex business logic are required. Experience with data modeling tools such as ERWin as well as strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Candidates must have the ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures. The selected Developer must have the ability to make formal and informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers. Excellent project planning and estimation skills as well as the ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a team environment are required. This position must demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional integrity as well as the ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs.
