Lead ETL Data Architect/Developer

Description:
The Lead ETL Data Architect/Developer will be responsible for analyzing the business requirements and functional specifications to design, architect, develop and implement highly efficient, highly scalable ETL processes. Candidate must be able to perform daily and project functions with a focus on meeting the business objectives on time within a rapidly changing work environment.
Responsibilities:
Modeling:
Participate in the creation of (Logical) Entity Relationship Diagram Models, including normalization and (Physical) Dimensional Database Models that satisfy application, database, and performance requirements.
Follow SP modeling standards and methodology to contribute in the creation of high quality models.
Analyzing:
Create entity, attribute business/technical descriptions that maintain consistency and accuracy in context.
Pursue multiple research paths both by reviewing and finding SP documentation (including system documentation, existing ER Models, SP Intranet glossaries, development code, etc.) and by tracking down knowledgeable Subject Matter Experts.
Participate in software development projects to develop logical and physical data models and to capture application specific ETL metadata and work flows.
Prepare technical ETL specifications and documentation for Data Integration based projects.
Ability to identify required tasks and accurately determine needed resources and timeframes to complete a project.
Technical:
Provide expert knowledge regarding Data Warehousing and OLAP technology.
Provide expert knowledge of data management including data extraction, transformation and loading processes (ETL) using the Ab Initio suite of products (GDE, Co-Operating System, EME).
Possess a solid understanding of parallel processing methodologies, scalable architecture, appropriate use of Multi-File Systems, Ab Initio environment administration and performance efficiency techniques.
Hands on capabilities with Ab Initio, AIX, HPUX, ksh programming and perl.
Lead:
Ability to direct and lead a team of ETL developers to meet a projects objective.
Accurately track project progress, compare against baseline, determine project status and report to management as needed.
Capability to work with a team but the strength to stand-alone when required.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent level of experience.
Excellent (logical) entity relationship diagram modeling skills including normalization and (physical) dimensional database modeling skills that satisfy application, database and performance requirements.
Self initiative and attention to detail with experience in the full SDLC.
Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical users.
Capable of leading a team of developers as well as work alone.
Strong interviewing skills to extract information from subject matter experts including ability to question or re-phrase responses to assure clarity.
Both hands-on and lead application development experience through all phases of a project .
Strong experience (5+ years) with the Ab Initio ETL tools (GDE, Co-operating system, EME) including database interfaces with DB2 and Oracle 9/10g.
Preferred requirements: Strong SQL Experience, Ab Initio Continious Flow Products (CFP), Ab Initio Data Profiler, Ab Inito PlanIt, TIBCO technologies (Subscribe/Publish).
Plus requirements: Mainframe OS/390, ISPF, SAS, Business Objects, .NET
