Department Description: The Enterprise Architecture team is responsible for common blueprints to enable corporate agility and accelerate innovation through design approaches to deliver maximum flexibility and value and framework to help make better decisions and enable leveraging of current IT investments and existing assets. Responsibilities/Expectations: This position has overall responsibility for
? the management and planning of the Enterprise Information Architecture to execute business benefits ? accountable for establishing the Information Architecture vision, strategy, and championing efforts to reach that vision.
? providing thought leadership with respect to Information architecture and technologies.
? monitoring emerging technologies and leading investigation and adaptation of beneficial information, data, and knowledge management technologies.
1. Assist senior management in translating its vision, mission statement, and business strategy into information and data architectural strategy to provide innovative and creative enterprise solutions.
2. Develop and Champion information strategies to support Motorola mission and goals in all activities both within and outside the organization.
3. Lead virtual cross-functional information architecture team to set direction for broader and integrated enterprise information and data architecture strategy.
4. Lead the documentation of ?as-is? information architecture and translate agreed-upon architectural principles into a
? "To be" information architecture for the enterprise in collaboration with system and process architectures; and regularly updated with respect to evolving technology capabilities.
? Set of formal standards, policies and processes that integrate information architecture considerations and impact assessment into the broader set of Program and Project Management practices
? Define processes and criteria for information architecture governance and granting exceptions to the information architecture standards
5. Assist Business/Function/Region Team's technical leadership to ensure the agreed-upon information architecture goals are factored into each designated Program and Project while accelerating business goals.
6. Define information architecture, components and interfaces based on architectural standards and in the context of Enterprise Architecture.
7. Ensure Information consistency and quality throughout the Enterprise; design, construct and implement programs to ensure the quality and value of all information assets.
8. Drive reuse for cost minimization through identification of database design components eligible for reuse and develop migration or sunset strategies for non-compliant assets.
9. Evaluate emerging approaches and new technologies for consistency, compliance and integration with information architecture governance, standards and policies.
10. Drive significant business results by tracking common metric across the enterprise.
11. Provide direction on build or buy decisions pertaining to technology when managing the information architecture goals.

3. Manages results and the delivery of services of a third party. Service Level Management for Infrastructure and Applications.
4. Minimum 10+ year senior IT architectural experience across more than one type of industry and organization.
5. Adjusts and accommodates changing circumstances ? manages conflict and can operate in ambiguous situations.
6. Engenders a culture that supports creativity, innovation, and a learning environment.
7. Influences technical direction outside of the organization.
8. Combines initiative, creativity and excellent communication, decision-making and persuasion skills to resolve critical issues at the highest levels of the organization.

11. Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of the market and the competition.

15. Evaluates alternative technical solutions to the business requirements including development vs. purchase, translating requirements into a technical system model and describing the architecture, components, and interrelationships.
16. Works collaboratively across diverse business, functional, and regional groups and architecture teams.
17. Executive communication skills (both verbal and writing); able to develop and present complex material effectively to a variety of audiences - technical and non-technical, staff, management and leadership.
18. Familiarity and expertise with Information Architecture techniques and models.
19. Familiarity with the use of Enterprise Architecture Business, Operational (Functions and Information), Systems, and Technology models.
20. Proven ability to perform gap analysis between existing and proposed information architectures as well as track record of success at closing gap.
