Commercial PCIT (Property Casualty Information Technology) Development Lead Role
Commercial Development Lead role is to establish and lead teams of developers in projects of varying sizes from project initiation through implementation and warranty. The development lead also assists the project manager in development of the project plan and WBS, reports on status, facilitates resolution of development risks and issues, and interfaces with external teams with interdependencies on the project development team.
Responsibilities
? Establishes and leads teams of developers in all phases of software development projects.
? Responsible for securing required resource commitments from Application Managers, as well as, monitoring and validating the resource availability.
? Responsible for documenting, organizing and prioritizing detail activities and validating that project development activities conform to best practices and current standards. (Application Managers are responsible for establishing application best practices and standards. Development Leads are responsible for making sure that they are followed on projects and that the project includes them in the budget, scope, and schedule.)
? Responsible for quality through ensuring standards are followed especially in the areas of quality reviews and unit testing.
? Facilitates the development of activity estimates. Organizes and communicates estimates to project managers.
? Assists project managers with WBS development.
? Responsible for monitoring and reporting development team status.
? Facilitates resolution of development risks and issues.
? Responsible for coordinating dependencies with other teams? leads: Solutions, Configuration Management, Testing, other development, applications and NSC teams.
Skills/Knowledge required or to be developed
? Knowledge of PCIT Commercial Systems
? Understand basic enterprise and division project management standards and processes.
? Understand enterprise and division development standards, best practices and processes.
? Project leadership and management skills.
? Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as, good presentation skills, and ability to interact with all levels within the company.

Galaxy DW Lead Opening (Requisition Number 10985 on www.nationwide.com)
Galaxy DW is looking for a candidate ground in sound ETL processes and Informatica experience to help design new solutions within the DW space, as well as drive out ETL best practices. Strong technical skills in the ETL arena are necessary to estimate and execute design activities, as well as mentor less skilled associates. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are also necessary to mentor team members.
JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, has duties of instructing, directing, and checking the work of other applications development personnel. Leads a team that devises or modifies procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications programming. Responsible for quality assurance reviews. Acts as project leader for projects with small budgets or limited duration. Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leads projects and/or teams involved with the development and implementation of cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications.
2. Leads a team responsible for the analysis and validation of system requirements and existing business processes and information systems. Leads a team in designing, developing, and implementing new programs and/or modifications of existing applications. Leads a team involved in creating designs, prototypes, and other methodologies for new and/or existing systems including the development and implementation of test plans and program specifications with various interfaces.
3. Instructs and checks the work of other applications development personnel involved with the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation and implementation of software applications.
4. Leads a project team in the development of specifications and programming of technical modules, applications, prototypes and computer programs.
5. Leads a team responsible for all aspects of applications programming and development for assigned projects.
6. Leads a project team involved in evaluating and providing technical solutions to application development problems.
7. Determines user requirements, leads application design, plans projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress. Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or related field is preferred.
Experience: Six years of experience in programming and systems analysis. Project management experience is preferred.
Knowledge: Must have proven knowledge in computer programming language. Must have a thorough understanding in systems and data processing policies, practices and procedures. Must have a thorough understanding in systems analysis and design techniques. Must have extensive knowledge of the systems development life cycle. Understanding of project management concepts and techniques required.
Skills/Competencies:
