Lead Network Engineer for Leading Security Provider

Our client, the leading provider of managed network security services and security pioneer, is looking to expand their Raleigh, NC office. We are looking for a seasoned, professional, and experienced Lead Network Engineer to join their team.

 

Scope of this role:

The Network Engineer is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving Tier II LAN/WAN problems. Responsibilities include: fielding of network related trouble notifications, providing proper documentation of these activities, escalating problems in accordance with policy, analyzing and reporting network performance data, modifying configurations of network devices, notifying customers and IT management of problems where applicable and working with Help Desk personnel to resolve in depth problems. This person will act as the escalation point and lead technologist on and off hours.

 

To be successful in this position you must possess the following:

 

Technical and Professional Expertise
4+ Years of Network Engineering and Support experience
Successful track record trouble shooting servers, routers, firewalls, switches, hubs and networking equipment
Expertise with the following:
Cisco IOS, PIX firewalls
VPN troubleshooting and configuration
Routing and switching
Knowledgeable with ATM, Ethernet, and Frame Relay
PC Help Desk
Understanding of Network Performance Management techniques and software
Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms
Prior experience working in a Network Operations Center
Experience with Network Management
Excellent communication, time management, and follow up skills

 

Requirements of this role:
BSCS, BSIT, or other related field strongly preferred
4+ Years of Network Engineering (hands on) experience in a support capacity
CCNA or better preferred
MCP
