Lead Oracle DBA

HCS Systems is currently seeking a Lead Oracle Database Administrator to provide tier 3 support and enterprise Oracle deployment in a Unix/Linux environment. This individual will be part of a 10-person team and will manage 3 DBAs.  The team consists of DBAs, System Administrators, and other System engineers, supporting one of the largest Oracle Forms and Reports deployments in the world.

Responsibilities and qualifications include:

- At least 7 years of work experience in an Oracle DBA role.

- Prefer experience as a Lead DBA managing and supporting other DBAs.

- At least 3 years experience supporting Oracle 9i in an enterprise Unix/Linux environment

- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle 9i database on Unix/Linux

- Monitoring and tuning database performance as required

- Capacity planning and other performance management as needed

- Expert knowledge of the following Oracle skillsets: OEM, RMAN, PL/SQL, statspak, stored procedures, backups and restores

- Enterprise mindset supporting large numbers of users

- Writing and supporting shell (at least one of ksh, sh, or perl) and SQL scripts for technical support needs (be prepared to show examples during interview)

- Comfortable with established change control processes

- Database support of application development and QA testing efforts as needed

- Must participate in on-call rotation and after-hours problem resolution as notified by automated monitoring software

- Must participate in monthly scheduled maintenance weekend periods (one per month)

- Oracle certification a plus

- Oracle 9i Application server/Forms 6i experience a definite plus

- Must work well with others

- Must have excellent documentation and communication skills (be prepared to show examples)

- 10G experience a plus

- RAC experience a plus
