Lead Project Manager

A leadership position to provide project management expertise for design through implementation, of the various existing and evolving Harrah?s business systems, solutions and processes. This position will have a primary focus for the delivery of business solutions and projects within the Harrah?s Corporate environment, with a primary focus on traditional back of house systems (e.g. HR, Accounting, etc.) Responsible for maintaining frequent, high quality communications with internal clients and all other affected individuals for key projects. Responsible for leading and developing core and extended project team members, and managing their project assignments and deliverables. Leads and/or provides project support for the development and implementation of technology solutions to enable or enhance complex business processes and functionality, application architecture and system integration. Involves creating and managing to detailed project, finance and resource plans, and leading teams to deliver on projects and systems with new or existing functionality on a variety of integrated and non-integrated platforms. Partners with other areas of IT to implement technology strategies and systems ensuring compatibility with existing systems, standards compliance, and consistency with long term business needs, strategies and policies. Involves understanding of key technical architectures, operating systems, host platform software and hardware, and all supporting processes and integration dependencies. Demands excellent personnel and project management skills.

Ability to build, cultivate and maintain a high level of team member capability and performance under multiple projects, and stressful internal and client demands. Experience in management of inter-relationships and inter-dependencies between multiple Products/Projects/Applications, and management of multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities and information. Ability to persuade employees, peers and management concerning issues, direction and stewardship of critical projects. Strong knowledge of project costing, control and management techniques, including development of detailed funding, estimating and project plans and techniques for management of large, complex internal and external development efforts - sometimes several simultaneously. Tenacious and dependable in establishing project milestones and driving them to completion. A good negotiator who is able to cultivate and manage relationships both internally and externally (including vendors and contractors). Must be comfortable presenting in front of groups including senior management. Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills - possessing the ability to illustrate complex concepts simply - to both technical and non-technical audiences.



Minimum 3 - 5 years business experience, with 3 or more in Information Technology in the management and design of business computer systems. Minimum of 2 years experience with a project management/leadership responsibility. Demonstrated experience in systems development and/or operations strongly recommended. Experience in the development of business solutions, client relationship management, project leadership, systems analysis and design, change management, and user management, in an environment of multiple, complex, inter-related systems. Experience in real-time systems and mission-critical systems required. Experience in at least 2 of the following areas: slot/gaming systems, data warehousing, product marketing, customer relationship marketing, back office, office automation systems implementation. Experience within the casino and/or travel/leisure industry strongly preferred.

Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong consulting skills with the ability to advise and make recommendations, provide assistance or help with planning from a basis of personal expertise where no formal or direct reporting relationship exists. Ability to speak to small and large audiences with ease. Speaks effectively and clearly with the ability to influence others in both positive and negative circumstances and produce the best outcome. Ability to negotiate successfully with vendors and internal/external parties to secure the most favorable terms for Harrah's.
