Lead Software Engineer - Online Services
Be a member of the Online Services SWAT Team! The Application Services group is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to be part of the Novus Suite SWAT team. SWAT is a newly formed group that will enable you to learn all aspects of the Novus Suite. The SWAT team is responsible for ensuring the quality of the Novus Suite. The Novus Suite is TLR?s shared architecture on which Thomson/TLR products will be built upon.
Primary Responsibilities of Position: Respond to critical incidents and problems within Novus, Prism, and selected Novus Suite Applications Investigate software and performance issues related to the Novus Suite Monitor Client and Production environments, the health of Novus Suite services, and selected Novus Suite Applications developed by Online Services Identifies, leads, and tracks the resolution of issues. Work with various areas throughout the organization including, Application Development, Platform Development, Westlaw Application Development, Program Management, and TLR-Technical Services Works with the team leads, technical leads, developers, and management as needed to resolves issues. Provide communication between management and team members
Minimum Qualifications:Four-year College Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field Excellent verbal and written communication skills6+ years of Java/JDBC or equivalent Object Oriented Language experience 4+ years of database experience using IBM DB2/UDB, database application development experience, and proficient with SQL4+ years hands-on XML experience including DTD/Schema design and development Effective problem solving, data analysis and issue resolution skills Experience with XML technologies, middleware and JMS Experience using SOAP, creating Web Services, ORACLE, Design Patterns, Quick learner, eager to leverage new technologies in a dynamic team environment Ability to communicate effectively when dealing with internal and external customers Strong problem solving, data analysis, analytical, and issue resolution skills
Preferred or desired Qualifications: (not required for consideration)Knowledge of the Novus Suite Architecture WebSphere or WebSphere Application Server
