Lead Software Engineer with Security Clearance

Position Duties:

Candidate will develop software used in a variety of naval training and simulation systems. All software is developed in a Unix/Linux environment, and written in C and C++, incorporating various naval numerical models. Software development will include designing, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and verification and validation testing. Candidate will develop and implement advanced underwater ACOUSTIC signal processing algorithms used in real-time systems. The ability to implement algorithms efficiently is essential. This is not an IT/database application/transaction processing type position. Work will include the development of new code and the maintenance of existing code.

Required Skills:

Candidate must have 5 or more years of C and/or C++ and ACOUSTIC signal processing experience. Candidate must have experience with either numerical processing techniques or cluster computing. Candidate must also be familiar with sound software engineering methodologies.

 

Desired Skills:

MPI, real time programming, numerical simulations, cluster computing, Linux experience. Additional desired skills include: take the initiative in team problem solving sessions, set realistic goals and objectives for self, seek increased responsibilities, and look for career broadening opportunities.

 

Bachelor's in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical degree. Continuing education in any of the above fields is desirable. MS is desirable though not required.
