The Modeling Architecture for Technology and Research EXperimentation (MATREX) program is aimed at developing a modeling and simulation capability that fully supports the design, analysis, and evaluation of network-centric war fighting systems such as Future Force and Future Combat Systems.  Dynamic Animation Systems, the prime contractor for MATREX, is a rapidly growing virtual reality software development firm headquartered in Northern Virginia. As a MATREX Lead Software Integration and Test Engineer, the individual will be required to oversee both the Program level and Infrastucture team level integration and test engineer operations and interact closely with Government and contractor personnel both locally and remotely, coordinate with other project elements as necessary, develop, evaluate and interpret requirements, and plan work assignments to satisfy those requirements, as well as perform and oversee system and software engineering tasks as required.  The individual will be responsible for oversight of test plan and case development, as well as, work closely at productizing the MATREX version deliverables to external customers. The individual will support and execute lab operations in accordance with the approved systems engineering processes and procedures.  Close coordination between the software development and software engineer activities and involvement in testing is required to accomplish verification and validation (V&V). Hands on problem solver, ideally familiar with Modeling and Simulation and Army/Joint Operational Concepts.  In addition, the Lead I&T Engineer must be able to evaluate existing processes and define, develop, train and maintain an added value, end-to-end Integration and Test processes for the MATREX Program.  Assist in identifying relevant requirements sources, enabling/leading requirements analysis of capability shortfalls to enable design and development and drives testing objectives during Verification and Validation of the system post integration; develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)/Statement of Tasking (SOT) in synch with the fiscal planning cycle; managing product baseline through design/development lifecycle and working closely with Program Management to ensure traceability of program objectives to technical tasks. 

This position requires at least 3 years of professional experience in the following areas:  Object-oriented analysis and design, methodologies using UML, (e.g. Rational, ICONIX),  Java or C++ development, Linux and Windows development. A candidate for this position would benefit from having at least 1 year or more of the following optional skills:  Using the ModSAF/JSAF/OTBSAF, application for scenario development and execution, designing and implementing HLA -RTIased distributed simulations.
