Lead Systems Engineer - Business Rules

Job Description: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical Team Lead or Manager with prior Business Rules experience to be part of groundbreaking projects and new system development!

This leadership position will support the technical design and implementation of automated decisioning systems through the use of business rule engine technology. Applicants should have prior technical experience in rule based system development, project management, and team leadership / management.

Individuals will work closely with a variety of other teams including Domain Experts, Business Analysts, Rule Architects, and IT Architects to design automated decisioning systems supporting consumer finance.

Responsibilities will include supporting the development of business rule requirements, analysis of rule requirements, technical design and development of business rules, adhering to proper architectural guidelines for development, unit testing of developed code, supporting defect resolution, and ongoing change management.

- Understanding of and experience with applications that use multiple reasoning paradigms (rule- and case-based reasoning, constraint-based programming and optimization techniques)
- Develops rules in compliance with published policies and procedures as well as Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance and Business expectations and strategies.
- Works closely with project managers to define and develop project deliverables.
- Provides strategic consultancy support to assigned internal business unit customers in defining and enabling rule system development.
- Ability to effectively manage team budgets within assigned area of responsibility.


Minimum Qualifications: Prior experience leading development teams in support of large scale technology projects.

At least 7 years relevant IT experience including technical design and implementation of automated decisioning systems using commercially available business rules engines such as Blaze Advisor, ArtEnterprise, or ILog JRules.

Demonstrated knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC) and application to the business rules solution space (BRDLC).

Prior application development experience using object oriented techniques.


Preferred Skills: Prior experience in the consumer finance industry, such as mortgage banking, credit analysis, credit scoring and underwriting.
