Silverlink Communications is poised for expansion and we need a self-motivated professional to join our Operations team.  The Level 2 Operations Support individual is responsible for supporting an environment currently consisting of approximately 50 Windows based servers, networking gear and internal/external applications.  The qualified candidate will be tasked with being the primary escalation point for our OSS L1 team.

Responsibilities:

?  Design and support Cisco based LAN/WAN.

?  Proactively assess future bottlenecks and execute performance-tuning activities.

?  Assist with the design and build of monitoring tools to improve the scope of the Operations team.

?  Assist with building and administering Windows 2000/2003 server environments and MS SQL server.

?  Work with Vendors, Operations and Engineering to troubleshoot service delivery issues while maintaining uptime SLA?s.

?  Variable and rotating shift on a 24x7 L2 support schedule, 5-minute response required.

?  Follow troubleshooting procedures and document actions taken.

 

 

Technical and Experience Requirements:

?  Two years of college or equivalent post-high-school education or experience.

?  1-2 years of experience with 24x7 support

?  Cisco-based network/firewall

?  Windows server 2000/2003, Linux

?  Familiarity with IIS, Apache

?  Familiarity with Cold Fusion

?  Remote access - RDP, VNC, VPN

?  JAVA applications troubleshooting 

?  Familiarity with MS SQL

?  TCP/UDP communications

?  EMC SAN, VoIP, Voice XML, CCXML, and Visio or similar documentation tools a plus

?  Technical certifications highly desirable
