Linux System Administrator

Our client is seeking several Linux Systems Administrators. Strong scripting experience is a must, i.e. Perl, Bash, C, or Python. Ideal candidate will be someone who has large "Mission Critical" system experience, having managed several hundred servers at one time.

 

A Bachelor's Degree or higher is REQUIRED.

 

This is an long-term full-time hourly contract opportunity located in Santa Monica, CA. Rate is up to $56/hr W2, possibly more for the perfect candidate.

 

As a System Administrator, you will support their growing office and server infrastructure. You will be working in a demanding and fast-paced environment, so you will need exceptional technical acuity and individual initiative combined with a customer focused approach.

 

Duties include:

 

 Configure system and network parameters.
 Monitor stability and performance.
 Ensure 24x7 operation.
 Assist with corporate Linux desktop support.
 Write comprehensive documentation.
 BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

 2+ years experience with Linux.
 Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
 Working knowledge of security, webservers, NIS/NFS
 Excellent programming/scripting skills (bash, perl, python, etc).
 Excellent verbal and written skills with outstanding customer service.

 Plusses include Debian/Ubuntu packaging experience and experience with PAM.
