We are currently searching for an experienced Logistics Engineer Stf to support one of our clients. This opportunity is permanent, full-time, and on site in Fairfax, VA.
Position Description:
Reviews field support requirements and recommends tool and test equipment. Establishes calibration requirements for field systems/equipment including all maintenance tasks. Performs maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers. Reviews handbooks for technical adequacy. Assists in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support. Plans and contributes to proposal efforts.
Required Skills:
Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specialty Engineer will provide planning and controls that assures that the system meets performance requirements and ensures that the systems can be supported throughout its life cycle; this encompasses the management of the technical logistics elements that plan and develop the support requirements for a system this includes hardware, software, and the provisioning of training and maintenance resources. The ILS Engineer will establish requirements for maintaining the operational capability for the life of the system and perform Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to include: Maintenance planning - - Define system readiness objectives within minimum Life Cycle Cost - - Set up specific criteria for repair, including Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) requirements, testability, reliability, and maintainability; support equipment requirements - - Define specific maintenance tasks - - Define support required for fielding the system - - Manage warranties related to the system - - Prepare and maintain the maintenance concept. Supply support - - Acquire, store and manage support items and spare parts - - Dispose of secondary items - - Provide for initial support of the system - - Acquire, distribute, and replenish inventory. Support and test equipment - - Maintain test equipment - - Support the production and/or depot repair of end items or components. Manpower and personnel - - Develop manpower requirements to meet support demands throughout the life cycle of the system - - Manpower requirements are predicated on accomplishing the logistics support mission in the most efficient and economical way - - Define training to support equipment used to operate and support the system throughout the life cycle of the system - - New equipment training team - - Sustainment training. Maintain technical data and technical publications or technical information necessary to maintain the system - - repair manuals, maintenance manuals, user manuals, and other documents that are used to support the system. Technical data includes, but may not be limited to - - Technical manuals - - Maintenance expenditures - - Repair parts and tools lists - - Maintenance allocation charts - - Preventive maintenance instructions - - Drawings/specifications/technical data packages - - Software documentation - - Maintenance lists - - Identification lists - - Component lists - - Product support data - - Computer Resources Life-Cycle Management Plan (CRLCMP). Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) - - ensure that all equipment and support items are preserved, packaged, packed, marked, handled, transported, and stored properly for short- and long-term requirements - - material-handling equipment and packaging, handling and storage requirements, and pre-positioning of material and parts - - includes storage requirements (for example, sensitive, proprietary, and controlled items) - - takes into account critical engineering design parameters and constraints (e.g., width, length, height, component and system rating, and weight) - - System constraints (such as design specifications, item configuration, and safety precautions for hazardous material) - - Special security requirements. Facilities - - ensure all required permanent or semi-permanent operating and support facilities are available (for instance, training, field and depot maintenance, storage, operational, and testing) during system fielding - - define and establish impacts on life cycle cost, funding requirements, space requirements, environmental impacts, safety and health standards requirements, and security restrictions.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
