CDI has an Immediate Need for a MAINFRAME DBA SUPPORT

 

This contractor would become part of the Mainframe DBA Services team. This team is responsible for support of databases that reside on the mainframe.

 

Describe the Work

? Provide DB2 OS/390 DBA support for corporate database application systems and projects. 

? Perform ongoing production support of DB2 database systems as well as product upgrades, application upgrades, and development of databases.

? Utilize BMC DB2 products, IBM's Data Propagator, and other tools in performing database administration duties.

 

Competency / Experience Desired
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Work experience of DB2 UDB on z/OS (OS/390)
Experience with BMC (or equivalent DB2 administration tools, utilities, recovery products, and performance products
Efficient coding and tuning of SQL
DB2 performance tuning using Explains, DB2 monitors, and SQL analysis
DB2 data backup/recovery and migration processes
Effective customer communications and negotiations
Ability to thoroughly document and communicate processes
Logical and Physical and Physical data modeling
Data replication using IBM's Data Propagator and Information Integrator tools
Rexx program development and support
RACF/DB2 security administration
Peoplesoft application systems database support
DB2 UDB for AIX (or other Unix platform database administration

 

Work Schedule

Normal work schedule (days of the week), M-F, approx 8:00 - 5:00; Will be on-call every 5th or 6th week.
