Manage and direct an Intel-based server support group responsible for ensuring compliance with service levels/goals for the Plan's distributed systems-which encompass an extensive on-line network, mission critical real-time systems and Lotus Notes e-mail. In this role, you will serve as a single point of contact for reporting, tracking and resolving problems; coordinate/implement any changes to applications and the environment; direct the technical staff; and ensure network availability and timely/accurate processing. You will administer network start-up, failure/recovery and shutdown; monitor/expedite operations and controls; execute hardware/software maintenance; analyze new technologies; prepare management reports; and ensure testing requirements are in sync with production requirements.
To qualify, you will need a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or business, and five to eight years of experience with network operating systems, Windows 2000/2003 and Lotus Notes 6.5, including at least three supervising a 24x7 production environment. Solid communications, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills are required, along with broad knowledge of systems software, voice/data communications, hardware/software, batch processing concepts and complex teleprocessing networks. Technical background should also include the following: disaster recovery planning, small team management, LAN administration, Windows security, patch management, SQL server, SAN storage, tape back up and applications support. Experience in project management and the insurance industry are strongly preferred.
