POSITION DESCRIPTION:

?  Monitors and operates large IBM mainframes and alternate platforms by interacting via consoles.

? Monitors and tracks production batch processing to ensure that service level objectives are met by following documented procedures.

? Identifies, resolves or refers problems for all systems hardware, software and online applications to appropriate support groups.

? Enters and updates problems in the appropriate on-line problem management system.

? Refers problems that cannot be resolved through standard operating procedures to the appropriate support group for resolution.

? Performs follow-up by searching for open problems in the problem management system to ensure that problems are resolved and customers are notified to meet goal/resolution expectations.

? Reports problems to Data Center Management per documented escalation procedures.

? Creates and updates operations documentation.

? Implements schedule changes to hardware and software systems per provided instructions.

? Participates in special projects to improve quality and reduce the cost of Data Center services.

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

? 2 years experience operating a large IBM mainframe utilizing z/OS and JES2

? Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

? Ability to document procedures as demonstrated by previous experience

? Ability to work a Monday through Saturday schedule with a rotating day off

? Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays

? Experience with UNIX systems

? Knowledge of CA7
