Mainframe Application Developer - GPC (Band 4)

Job Responsibilities:


Candidate will work closely with business partners and internal Systems Analysts to assist in the definition, inspection and signoff of requirements supporting business sponsored initiatives.  Candidate must translate business requirements into system design specifications and develop, test and implement mainframe software to support business requirements, all within the framework of Accounting and Reporting Technologies Unified Process methodology.  When requested, candidate will assist in the management of projects utilizing offsite development resources to support various phases of the systems development initiative.

 Perform various project development tasks including business requirement reviews, system analysis and design, mainframe application development and software testing. Perform project leadership tasks for application development  where an outside vendor is utilized to maximize project throughput (Outsourced Project Coordinator). Qualifications:
Candidate must possess strong business analysis skills and have at least 5 years of mainframe technical development skills including Cobol II, CICS, VSAM and DB2. Candidate must have the ability to work independently or within a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills when interfacing with business clients, technical peers, and offsite development resources. The candidate must also possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
