Manager – Information Technology

Linden Bulk Transportation Co., Inc. provides truck transportation of liquid bulk commodities and is a vibrant company actively growing through driver recruitment and the opening of terminals in strategic locations.  At present, Linden Bulk and its affiliates have terminals in Linden, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Pasadena, TX and Reserve, LA.  The company also has maintenance, cleaning and intermodal capabilities.

 

We are seeking a proactive, well qualified Information Technology Manager to manage and coordinate our IT department which currently consists of two experienced individuals.  A qualified candidate will be independently motivated to succeed in the IT field.  We require excellent problem solving ability and a willingness to take a hands-on approach to managing the maintenance, operation and growth of the corporation?s hardware and software infrastructure.  In addition, the IT Manager has ultimate responsibility for help desk management operating in a 24/7 environment.  Knowledge of accounting systems, EDI and SQL is a plus.

 

Responsibilities of the Manager ? Information Technology include but are not limited to:
Recommending and implementing hardware and software upgrades;
Ensuring the IT infrastructure, including software applications, meets the needs of colleagues;
Daily monitoring of the backup system to ensure all necessary files are secured and stored;
Managing, monitoring, and performing scheduled maintenance on all servers, network equipment, routers and workstations;
Training and management of IT staff and supervision of technicians and consultants;
Serving as the emergency contact for our telecom providers in the case of an outage, emergency or service interruption with respect to data network services;
Staying abreast of available upgrades and industry trends and making appropriate recommendations to Senior Management.

 

An ideal candidate would have at least seven (7) to (10) years prior employment in information technology, including at least two (2) years experience with direct supervisory responsibility for other IT professionals, and have an associate?s degree or equivalent experience in information systems, management or logistics.
