Manager, IT Portfolio Management and Compliance - (FY07-020)

Oversight, optimization, management and governance of the Alkermes IT project portfolio and the primary point of contact for IT compliance related activities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Portfolio Management 1. Responsible overall IT Portfolio management activities including creating, prioritizing, optimizing, and reporting of the portfolio. 2. Work with internal IT Staff to create and maintain the Alkermes IT project management business processes and software development methodologies (SDLC, CMM, Application Implementation methodology) including proper paperwork, SOPs and related training. 3. Responsible for facilitation of monthly Business Partner meetings and preparation for the quarterly Management Review of the portfolio. 4. Support Business Analysts and Business Partner in the development of strategic and tactical plans for IT initiatives. 5. Focus on long-term success factors and ROI for IT investments (not just initial implementation timelines and budgets). 6. Definition and implementation of improvement to the IT portfolio, project management, and governance processes.

Compliance 1. Work with Quality to perform qualification audits of IT vendors and resources. 2. Work with Quality Validation, Sarbanes Oxley and Risk Management in the creation of business processes and methodologies related to achieving / supporting IT compliance. Be the main point of contact for these initiatives. 3. Direct and coordinate internal IT compliance activities (i.e. Sarbanes, validation, etc.) for IT initiatives, ad-hoc as well as annual reviews. 4. Be the internal reviewer to audit IT compliance with its operational and software related policies.

General 1.Facilitate the mentoring and development of IT department project managers and empowered users assigned to manage IT projects, as necessary.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus required. Graduate degree preferred. 10+ years experience working in a regulated (FDA) environment. 3+ years experience with compliance related activities including - validation of computer systems or software applications to meet FDA regulations, Sarbanes Oxley initiatives, HIPAA and risk management (e.g. Disaster Recovery). Experience working in technically oriented development environments (hardware / software). Formally trained in validation of computer systems and software applications, project management tools and techniques.

Knowledge/Skills Needed: Previous knowledge and use of ITIL or COBIT a plus Certification and use of PMI or CMM techniques a plus Previous experience dealing with regulatory authorities (e.g. auditors) Strong understanding of enterprise network system development. Strong understanding of software development life cycles. Strong understanding of project management fundamentals and process oriented methodologies. Strong understanding of group support processes and methods.
