Responsibilities:
* The incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership, vision and direction for Alcon IT infrastructure/client roles to support the company's business objectives and requirements for Distribution and Customer Service.

* Directing the IT-Infrastructure Client Hardware team in designing and planning all aspects of information systems across the Customer Service and Distribution organization and business.

* Proposing strategic initiatives to senior IT management; providing tactical information technology advice to staff and examining the ramifications of new and existing technologies.

* Submitting budgetary requests; setting performance standards.

* Conducting employee performance appraisals and handling various supervisory responsibilities.


Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or appropriate technical /functional discipline with 10 or more, years functional or technical management experience in a leadership position.

* Detailed knowledge of multi-platform environments and their operational roles and strong problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills.

* In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, Warehousing Systems, Order Entry Systems, UNIX, LDAP, Active Directory, Windows client and server technologies, LANs, WANs, Firewalls, VPN, Routers, database technologies, networking, telecommunications and TCP/IP.

* Demonstrated ability to work with a broad range of personnel within and external to the company; ability to work with vendors and understand licensing and financial impact or proposed solutions; knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, 21 CFR Part 11 and HIPAA.

* Ability to manage IT budgets, negotiate contracts, and handle supervisory responsibilities.
