Manager-Systems Engineering

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

Participates as the head of the Engineering team by taking responsibility for all activities relating to the day to day operations of the servers, infrastructure, networks and data centers; manages/directs the enterprise-wide daily operations, strategic planning, technical architecture, design, installation, maintenance, management of all information systems, including data networks, software, hardware and resource allocation; assigns personnel to projects, and directs their activities; responsible for the overall security and integrity of all corporate electronic data, data systems, and data networks; directs and implements the necessary controls and procedures to protect all corporate information system assets; ensures that system software on all servers and systems are maintained at current levels; provides long-term strategic planning to ensure network and system capacities meet current and future requirements; develops project plans for the implementation of new technologies, services, and systems; ensures that IT purchases are handled according to established policies; coordinates with other IT management on cross departmental projects; and performs other related duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Knowledge:  Expert knowledge desktop computers, servers, and network infrastructure. Expert knowledge of how NSP?s business application systems function and how they interface with other systems at NSP. 

Skills:  Expertise in communicating, verbally and written, ideas and specifications with users and technical personnel.  Highly efficient in time management, managing and coordinating multiple projects, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Ability:    Expertise in effectively instructing technical and non-technical personnel in PC and network operations. 

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

M.S. degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.  Minimum 15 years experience in Information Technology.
