The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an Test Engineering Manager
for our Advanced Technology Group. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.



Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for the design, development and execution of Video Subscriber Technology test strategy, plans, procedures and test results; Additional responsibilities include the validation of software, hardware and documentation prior to deployment in the existing Time Warner Cable environment; The candidate must have working knowledge of testing methodologies and procedures as implemented within a Product Development Life Cycle model; Additionally the candidate must have the ability to work alone or in a team environment; Manage group to perform all testing requirements to launch new features, capabilities, and new set-top box additions; Manage the identification and resolution of any issues/troubles identified during System Verification Testing and in Field Beta Testing; Coordinates all testing with other TWC groups (corporate and individual Divisions) and vendors; Responsible for the development of a comprehensive test strategy as well as detailed test plans and cases for subscriber technology products; Analyze all testing procedures and processes, continually improve, and enhance testing operations; Provide on-going status and maintain documentation of all testing and problem resolution activity; Maintain and use Remedy problem report database throughout the System Verification Testing and Field Testing of subscriber technology products to clearly describe and document problems found during testing; Maintain and use Virtual Source Safe (VSS) as repository for Vendor Releases and documentation as well as for TWC Test Plans, Test Procedures and Test scripts; Work with management to develop, and execute detailed System Verification Test (SVT) schedules for the Test Engineering /Quality Assurance team; Works with Advanced Engineering, Program Management, and Project Engineering, along with others in the acceptance criteria/verification and packaging of subscriber technology solutions; Selects and implements automated test tools and applications to improve the test process, coverage and cycle time; Works with Advanced Engineering, Product Marketing, and Program Management, along with others in the review of Subscriber Technology Functional Requirements and Specifications; Assists as needed with New Product Deployments in the scheduled hand-off and training of subscriber technology solutions; Work directly with the Deployment Team in improving Systems Verification Test plans and procedures based on customer feedback; Assess system impact and priority of problems encountered; Suggest ways to mitigate risk when issues are encountered; identify contingency plans.

Specialized Skills:
Minimum of 5 years experience in an MSO operating environment; Minimum of 5 years Unix Administration; Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering test and/or quality assurance; Experience in the development of test plans, test procedures, and test results/reports documentation; Experience in performing the functional, stress and performance testing of Analog / Digital Set-Top terminals; Familiarity with all aspects of digital set-top control networks including BFS/DSMCC, out-of-band signaling, application interfaces and signal delivery/conditional access (CA); Knowledge of Pegasus Interactive Services Architecture (ISA) preferred; Knowledge of Cable Labs Advanced Host and Host Device Core Functional Requirements of analog and digital set-top terminals, including RF, video and audio parametric specifications, required feature sets and MPEG protocols; Knowledge of TCP/IP, network routing and firewall, Windows NT/XP, Linux and Unix security, system administration, and SNMP a plus; Background should include expertise in, Network monitoring, backup, and security software; Working knowledge of data over cable (DOCSIS) systems is a strong plus; Working knowledge of enterprise LANs and WANs; (Preferable equipment/software: SNMP Network Monitoring, Cisco routers and switch configurations); Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Self-motivated problem-solver, able to work with minimal supervision; team player; Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and Microsoft Project.



Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
