Manager, Unix Technology

The Manager of Unix Technology will provide comprehensive management of Pier 1 Unix systems and will maintain responsibility for the availability and performance of all Pier 1 Unix servers.  This person will manage the Unix Administration team to ensure that business requirements and service level objectives are met, and will ensure uninterrupted system availability to customers of the Unix platform.

 

? Ensure availability and provide technical support of all Pier 1 Unix servers including installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and performance tuning and reporting

? Partner with Enterprise Storage and Recoverability team to ensure recoverability of all Pier 1 Unix systems and applications

? Perform capacity planning for Unix environment including system upgrades, additions and server consolidations

? Support Information Services with application implementations and upgrades

? Ensure that Pier 1 system standards are up to date and that the standards are applied during installation and support

? Manage relationships with Pier 1 internal clients, Pier 1 Information Services, application project teams and Pier 1 partners

? Manage Unix server group including resource assignments, business priorities and professional development

 

Requirements:

 

5+ yrs. Unix administration experience

2+ yrs IT management experience
Solid project management skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
4 yr degree or equivalent experience

AIX certifications are a plus
