Manager of Software Product Development (must have hands on exp. with .NET development)

Market leading Communications Product Development Company is searching for a Manager of Software Product Development for one of its divisions in its R&D Department.  This company is a leading developer of communication products for state & local public safety agencies, homeland security, power/energy/utility, and transportation industries.  They specialize in developing software based Comuter Aided Dispatch (CAD) total solution product lines which have GIS components in them. 

 The incumbent will manage several direct reports in a collaborative development environment to develop and execute data conversion scripts, as well as be a ?hands on? individual and team contributor in building data interfaces to support the CADPro product. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the critical project of a Visual Basic to C# conversion, using the Microsoft platforms known as Development Studio and .NET.  Managing and leading engineering team through converting data and building data interfaces for the Command Systems CADPro product.  Leading all testing of data conversion scripts to ensure data is properly converted. Manage and assist with developing data conversion rules.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree required.A minimum of 5 years of management experience (developing work teams, managing critical conversion/interface projects)A minimum of 5 years experience in building complex, reliable mission critical systems and applications on a windows platform.Conversion experience from VB to C# or C++ to C# is required.Good process foundation, along with excellent teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and data analysis skills required. Demonstrated ability to accurately estimate the amount of time/work required to successfully complete specific assignments and deliver them on time.Public Safety and CAD software development experience is preferred.Experience in working in an agile development environment is a strong plus.
