Manager of the UNIX Distributed Systems Team

We are looking for someone to manage a small geographically disperse team of UNIX administrators. The individual hired for this position will work closely with the Engineering and team to ensure that projects are well-defined, have an appropriate support structure, conform to firm standards, and are implemented on time and on budget. The ideal candidate for this position will have supported a number of different operating systems and applications in a mid to large production environment and will have familiarity with standard Engineering & Administration functions and responsibilities. The individual must have the ability to manage projects and prioritize responsibilities to deploy distributed systems.

 

Requirements:

Experience managing a team that spans multiple geographies. Scripting ability (VB Script, Perl, Unix shell scripting) Ability to troubleshoot networking protocols at a packet level.

 

Desired Skills:

Experience with Veritas Volume Manager and supporting high-volume storage (SAN, NAS) is a plus. Red Hat Certification is a plus.
