Market Data Systems Engineer

·  Provide 3rd level technical support for market data systems

?  Work with traders, application developers and technology organizations to design and deliver market data systems, meeting business goals and objectives.

?    Provide technical vendor management.

?  Serve as an expert on technical and business usage of market data systems.

?  Ensure market data systems are functioning at the highest level available and have the maximum resiliency to failure in their infrastructure.

?  Ensure all market data technical directives are carried out.

 



?  At least five years hands-on experience with Reuters RMDS, Reuters Triarch and Tibco MDS installations. Recent Reuters RMDS experience required.

?  Strong knowledge of all Reuters RMDS components and Tibco RV/RVRD (5.3 and above). Reuters RMDS components are BGD, RTIC, RDTIC, DACS, DBU, DCS, DTS, DPS, ELS, feed handlers, filtering distributor, MDS Capacity tools, OTM, P2PS, RDF, ODF, RMC, Market Link, and source distributor.

?  Experience with ITRS Net Agent monitoring system. Preferably experience with IBM Tivoli as well.

?  Strong understanding of market data systems concepts and protocols

?  Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN) fundamentals.

?  Strong network communication trouble-shooting skills

?  Knowledge of network routing protocols and switching

?  Strong understanding of TCP, UDP and Multicast networking.

?  Understanding of firewall concepts and infrastructures

?  Strong knowledge and recent hands-on experience with Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, Windows 2000 Client/Server and above

?  Knowledge of client-side market data applications that interface with the Reuters RMDS such as the Reuters 3000xtra Suite.

?  Good interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

?  Methodical in problem analysis and resolution especially when dealing with technical systems and business applications.

?  Willingness to own problems until satisfactorily resolved.

?  Ability to mentor and transfer knowledge. Willingness to help with training of other team members.

?  A team player with an aptitude to use initiative while also complying with team standards.

?  Ability to effectively prioritize their own workload, adjust to changing demands, and learn quickly.
