Mgr. Applications Developement

Summary of Responsibilities The Project Manager has responsibility for applications, projects, and assignments that support specific business units and their objectives. The Project Manager has overall accountability for the performance and results of one or more Information Technology (IT) project team(s). Specifically, the incumbent's responsibilities include: the full scope of project management activities, staff allocation and direction, and budgeting related to assigned projects; the supervision of team members, including programmers, technical analysts, business analysts, and consultants; as well as the evaluation and development of team members.Principal Responsibilities *Effectively plans, organizes, and executes projects of varying complexity, delivering them within specified timeframes and budgets.

*Adheres to the accepted project management methodology

*Develops and maintains effective partnerships with key individuals, Application Development, Quality Assurance and Enterprise Technology groups.

*Exhibits effective networking, communications and interpersonal skills in order to accomplish objectives requiring cooperation from other parts of the organization.

*Provides leadership to build and maintain supportive relationships and commitment of team members to team goals and objectives.Required Competencies *Minimum 3 years Project Management experience

*Strong oral and written communication skills.

*Analytical, statistical and financial skills

*Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office suite.

*Demonstrate creative thinking and willingness to support new/improved approaches.

*Ability to solicit and use customer feedback to improve products and services: maintain open, candid communications and consistent follow-through with customers.

*Ability to model clear, analytical thinking and sound judgement: recognizes when sufficient data has been collected; coaches others to anticipate outcomes of various options and make timely decisions.

Knowledge of the following is not required but would be a plus:

- Experience working with Life Administration Systems

- Working knowledge of CSC Vantage systems,

- PMP training / PMI Certification,
