Summary of Responsibilities

The Project Manager has overall accountability for the performance and results of one or more Information Technology (IT) project team(s). Specifically, the responsibilities include the full scope of project management activities, staff allocation and direction, estimating, sizing, risk assessment and budgeting related to assigned projects; the supervision and management of teams, including programmers, technical analysts, business analysts, and consultants (both on and off shore); as well as the evaluation and development of team members. The Manager should have demonstrated ability in partnering with business unit customers in the planning, negotiation, development, installation, testing, and maintenance of high-quality, effective technology applications. The Manager also must possess strong planning, coordination, people management, communication, and influence skills.

 

Principal Responsibilities:
Analysis and Decision Making- Evaluate problems and opportunities in an organized, logical manner; prioritize resulting actions to maximize performance of the organization.
Customer Focus
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with key individuals and business partners in order to understand and anticipate their needs, the business environment, other challenges and opportunities.
Project Management- Effectively plan, organize, and execute projects of varying complexity, delivering them within specified timeframes and budgets and utililizing the accepted PM methodology. Manage multiple maintenance and minor enhancement projects in support of the annuity operation.

 

Required Competencies
Analysis and Decision Making- Model clear, analytical thinking and sound judgment; recognize when sufficient data has been collected; coach others to anticipate outcomes of various options and make timely decisions.
Business Perspective- Maintain a strong understanding of the business processes and objectives; communicate the direction of the IT organization and how it aligns to business objectives.
Customer Focus- Solicit and use customer feedback to improve products and services; maintain open, candid communications and consistent follow-through with customers.
Technical Skills- UDB Database, DB2, COBOL, .net, Java knowledge preferred
