We need a Microsoft SQL DBA. The person should have 3+ years of experience as a DBA and 1-2 years w/ MS SQL Server. It is an n-tier Windows environment.

A full time DBA is needed in order to properly maintain the current databases, ensure that the creation of new tables adheres to industry standards, provide proper documentation, monitor performance, and provide system support for the databases. Over the years the lack of a DBA has manifested itself in poor DB performance, recurring deadlocking problems and poor housekeeping practices.

1. Analyzes and Designs Database

a. Adapt conceptual and logical data models to enterprise model

b. Analyze database relative to other databases

c. Create refine and distribute conceptual and logical data models and documentation

d. Identify access and concurrency requirements

e. Identifies backup and recovery requirements and create recovery plan

f. Performs research and analyze requirements

2. Develops and Implements Database

a. Develops and validates database implementation plans

b. Develops back and front-end connectivity

c. Develops physical database characteristics and defines user interface

d. Installs and deploys database

e. Produces business and technical documents

3. Perform Database Administration and Maintenance

a. Administer and enforce standards

b. Analyze monitoring data

c. Audit database systems

d. Create and implement maintenance plan for regular integrity checks

e. Maintain physical organization of database objects and data dictionary

f. Plan and manage physical resource requirements and enhancements

4. Provide Data Assurance

a. Design and document security plan

b. Gather and document security requirements

c. Implement and enforce security requirements

d. Maintain and improve security in response to industry developments and user experience

e. Protect corporate data

5. Provide Database Client and User Services

a. Adapt existing structure to new business environments

b. Write codes for database access, modifications and constructions including stored procedures.

c. Provide and support development and production environments
