Microsoft Server Operations Specialist/Linux Administrator



Discount Tire Company is looking for an outstanding individual to join our Corporate Office in North Scottsdale to strengthen our current staff of Server Support Specialists.



The position will help with the administration and management of Windows and Linux servers, including server operation and security, application installations upgrades and support, server availability and networking initiatives. The person in this position will also provide technical support of our core Linux and Microsoft Windows server platforms including the Active Directory infrastructure and network services such as DHCP and DNS.



REQUIREMENTS:

Applicant must have minimum of 7 years of recent experience managing multiple Intel/Windows and Intel/Linux servers in a TCP/IP networked environment. A four year degree in the field is preferred.

The ability to monitor and model server performance is required

A high level understanding of Intel server and blade server platforms is expected.

Proficiency with Linux ES 3.x and Windows 2003 Standard and Enterprise operating systems is required.

Proficiency with the following software is preferred: VMWare ESX Server, SQL 2K.

Proficiency with the following software is preferred: PeopleSoft, Remedy, PlanView, PlumTree, Apache, Web Logic, Lotus Notes/Domino.

SAN, CommVault and tape library technology skills are a plus.

Excellent project management, cost benefit analysis, RFP, proposal, customer service, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills are necessary.

Candidate should have an understanding of network security and firewall concepts.
