Mortgage Trading Systems Developer

We are a leader in our industry and as such we are seeking to add top talent in financial systems development

Our Mortgage Derivatives team is looking for developers to help us in development and enhancements for trade entry and processing systems for Mortgage default swaps and Index products. The team is responsible for development and maintenance of applications and processes which are used by traders, sales and middle office people to manage trade entry, position and risk management as well as trade flows to settlement and clearing systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Primary responsibility of the candidate initially will be to work on middle office flows for Mortgage CDS and Index products. The candidate will be expected to understand, enhance and maintain applications and code base responsible for settlement, clearance and payments related to contracts.
-In terms of technology, the candidate will demonstrate strong skills in Java, XML, Sybase and object oriented design principles.
-To be able to work independently on a given module from requirement to implementation.
-Being able to coordinate and lead design and code reviews.
-Coordination with team members and ability to work with other teams to make sure proper standards are followed and also to reuse existing architecture.
-Be able to support production users and batches once system goes live.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

-5+ years minimum experience.
-Strong Java skills and understanding of Object oriented design principles.
-Proficient with XML.
-Proficient with Database access, SQL, preferably with Sybase.
-Financial background highly desirable, experience in Mortgage systems or Derivatives products a big plus.
-Good communication/interpersonal skills.
