Multi-Talented DBA

Our client, an international Fortune 500 company, is looking to hire a DBA.  In the past two years, our client has re-emphasized how technology will provide a competitive advantage in their industry.  As a result, they are retooling their IT group to help implement new technologies.  They are presently the second largest company in their industry, striving to become number one.


Responsibilities: 


Translate logical data models into physical models

Manage Database Binary Installations, Upgrades and Patch maintenance

Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues

Secure and protect corporate data stored in databases

Design, create, maintain, support, monitor and tune physical databases as needed


Qualifications:


Knowledge of both Oracle 9i and DB2 UDB (version 7.2 and above).  Must be willing to work with variety of database environment such as Oracle, DB2 UDB, Sybase, MS SQL Server and Informix)

Advance level of experience with industry standard database technologies, particularly DB2 and Oracle

Experience in performance tuning and capacity planning techniques and practices

Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically while delivering on tactical objectives
