Multimedia Specialist

SUMMARY: Provide design guidance and support to instructional designers/clients in order to facilitate adaptation or creation of course materials for delivery in a Web-based environment. Develops web based learning content using dream weaver, flash, captivate, knowledge assembler.

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
 Bachelor's Degree
 Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design  principles and we-based graphic design priniples.
 Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
 Experience designing and delivering instructional products. 
 Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
 Working knowledge of Macromedia dreamweaver and flash.

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability or integrate multimedia into web-based courses. 
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and individuals at any and all levels of an organization. 
Experience that demonstrates high degrees of self-direction, initiative and motivation; sense of urgency to meet established deadlines. 
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail and focus on quality. 
Ability to work productively on multiple projects/courses simultaneously.

 

MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION:
Advanced competency in macromedia flash including advanced action scripting, creation of dynamic, database driven interactions, and user tracking.
Creation, editing, compression, and implementation of digital media including streaming audio and video. 
Experience creating interactions and simulations for web-based delivery. 
Advanced graphic design competency in adobe photo-shop and/or Macromedia Fireworks including the design and creation of instructional graphics. 
Working knowledge of XLM; interaction with flash and/or conversion of print/text materials to online format.
Working knowledge of XSL, XHMTL, VBScript, JavaScript, and/or JAVA.
Working knowledge of ASP, PHP, MS SQL, My SQL, IIS and/or Apache.
Knowledge of SCORM and other object-oriented online educational standards (e.g., IMS, AICC,) including experience in the packaging of SCORM-compliant learning objects.
Experience in the development of Web application for organizational project management, client communication and/or instructional use.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL COURSE DESIGN:
Comprehensive knowledge of Web-based and multimedia tools and their use in online blended course delivery.
Comprehensive knowledge of learning styles related to Web-based course delivery. 
Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design principles and models including the planning, implementation and evaluation of instructional products delivered via distance learning technologies.
