.NET Developer/MCSD

Our client in Raleigh, NC is seeking a short term (6 months) contractor to perform the following tasks:

- Development of a publicly accessible, web-based economic and statistical data analysis and display application. This work will be completed under the direction and guidance of permanent staff
- The selected candidate will be responsible for application design and development of the web-based system. The tasks assigned to this person will include the creation of graphical user interfaces and code development that addresses the business need in the agreed-upon time frame. This person will be responsible for developing timelines and identifying milestones.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements.
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the design of n-tier applications with Visual Studio .NET as well as 5 years of solid web application development experience with the following: n-tier applications using IIS/MTS, ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET, HTML, Javascript and web-services; development of web applications using n-tier architecture in a Windows .net environment; and developing business services objects

- Experience working with large MS SQL Server databases and writing SQL queries and developing stored procedures in that environment

- Experience with developing applications that integrate statistical methodologies and procedures required for the analysis of large volumes of data

- Proven communications, both written and verbal, the ability to take direction as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team on assigned tasks

Preferred:
Preference will be given to applicants who:
? are current Microsoft Certified Solution Developers
? have significant experience with the Americas Labor Market Information System (ALMIS) database structure
? have significant experience with OLAP development and MDX queries
? have experience with SQL server 2005 and .NET 2.0, and
? have an advanced degree in the economics, statistics or business
