NOC Technician, graveyard shift-temp to hire (32 hours/week)

Broadband services company seeks NOC Technician to join their team on a temp to hire basis.  Please submit your resume and references and a representative will contact you within 48 hours if there is an interest.

 

Must be open with schedule. Will mostly be scheduled Saturday through Tuesday from 11pm - 8am.

 

Primary job duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

 

1) Navigate FileMaker

Find customers

Identify services enabled on customers account

Identify equipment in the building and it?s location

Open "Snoopy" ticket from FileMaker

 

2) Snoopy Trouble ticket system

Log new Snoopy tickets

Update existing Snoopy tickets

Keep a close eye to detail and be verbose whenever possible

 

3) Email accounts

Assist customers with setting up various types of e-mail client software

Create and configure email accounts on our corporate e-mail systems

Decipher email headers to assist help customers troubleshoot email issues

 

  4) Web hosting

Configure web hosting accounts on our corporate hosting systems

Retrieve account details such as username and password

Assist customers with domain registration

 

5) Networking

? Must understand and demonstrate knowledge of the following:

a) Ping

b) Traceroute

c) Basic IP routing concepts

d) IP Subnetting

? Assist customers with basic LAN troubleshooting

 

4) System Administration

Must understand basic Linux filesystem navigation and program locations

Must understand Windows Server filesystem navigation and program locations

Will be required to console or remote desktop to corporate and customer systems for maintenance and emergency repairs

 

5) Network Monitoring

Be responsible for designing and maintaining various network monitoring systems and software applications including Whats Up Gold/Professional, SNMPc, MRTG, Big Brother

Be responsible for recommending and deploying new network monitoring systems in order to improve visibility into the RedWire network and improve NOC access to critical network monitoring/management data

 

6) Engineering

Assist the Engineering department with critical network/systems tasks during off-peak hours

Configure, repair, replace devices in the network based on Engineering requirements
