NV- Server Manager - Tech IV

 

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Server Manager, Tech Level IV for the Las Vegas, NV area, is to provide server support and customer service to customers as well as server as a technical resource for desktop technicians.  In addition, the Server Manager, Sr. is expected to perform advanced level server related tasks with minimal supervision and provide a leadership role in project management and the application of technology in the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

?  Provide server support.

?  Experience with Networks, SON, and SRN a plus.

?  Advance Hardware skills.

?  Flexible schedule (some nights and weekends can be expected).

?  Resolves server related hardware and software problems.

?  Strong server skills (Understanding of NTFS, Active Directory, Meta Groups, Scripting, Load balancing, Backup devices and Software, and Design).

?  Knowledge of and support of servers, including maintenance and use of EnCase forensic software.

?  XP, Server 2k, and Server2003 knowledge. ? Technical Requirements.

?  Maintain OS Patches on all CSU supported Servers.

?  Strong administrative responsibilities are a major part of the job responsibilities.

?  Maintain Server Administrator Certification.

?  Upgrade hardware and software on Servers

?  This position is in support of the continuing growth of the server related duties and work load within the CSU.  The successful candidate will be in a support role to the Lead server manager until which time as the management of the CSU determines that specific server duties are appropriately assigned.

?  May be asked to participate on and/or lead projects within the department.  These may include, but are not limited to, software and hardware deployments, operating system and software upgrades, process development, documentation and consistency.

?  Deliver excellent customer service.

?  Expected to maintain a high level of service in their interactions with customers.  Must be able to appropriately manage difficult customer issues and know when to ask for assistance.

?  DOE Q or L clearance desired ? Applicants must be able to obtain a clearance, which normally requires US citizenship.

?  Will require candidates to take Brain Bench Assessment.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate on CSU Leadership team, fill in for the primary server manager as needed due to vacations, training, PTO, also fill in for Team and Tech Leads when needed.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
