.Net Developer ? Data Warehouse Consultant
Bull Services has enjoyed strong, long-term relationships with states like Illinois, Michigan, New York, Utah, and Minnesota since 1995. We have implemented Justice and Public Safety Business Intelligence Solutions such as: Judicial Data Warehouse and Judge?s e-Bench? and have never lost a customer. In anticipation of additional upcoming projects, Bull Services is looking to add a talented and mid-level experienced.Net Developer to its staff.
.Net Developer - Data Warehouse Consultants should have experience and skills to support system development and Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence design, development, implementation and support projects utilizing .Net Technologies. The .Net Developer ? Data Warehouse Consultant will typically work under the guidance and direction of a senior Bull Services developer, but on smaller, limited scope projects, may work independently with minimal direction. In general, the following are the primary responsibilities of the .Net Developer - Data Warehouse Consultant:
Support/perform the gathering and documentation of end-user system and/or BI requirements.
Define, build, test, implement and maintain, new and/or modifications to, BI queries and reports (including dashboards, scorecards and other Business Objects capabilities) in a Justice or Public Safety-oriented public sector environment, based on defined specifications and industry best practice:
o Business Objects XI environments (universes, repository, WEBI, client tools)
o Web Intelligence reports and Crystal reports (including dashboards)
o .Net interface technologies
Assist end-users with writing reports and performing ad hoc queries.
Define, maintain and administer Business Objects Development tools.
Provide user documentation and training to other Bull Services and customer staff as required.
In general, the following responsibilities are required of all members of the Justice and Public Safety team:
Design and deliver systems integration deployment services (requirements definition, technical design, programming, testing, documentation, training, and turnover) associated with the implementation of system integration, web services, user portals, and Data Warehousing technologies for Bull Services? customers. Assist in, or lead the requirements definition, design, development, implementation and support of the query and reporting and extract, transformation and loading components of Bull Services? solutions.
Provide (in a team environment with other Bull Services employees, partner or sub-contractor employees, and customer staff) ?data analysis? and ?information needs analysis? activities centered around ?discovering? what data, ETL processes, querying and reporting is required to meet the defined needs. This is typically accomplished during facilitated work sessions or one-on-one interviews with customer employees.
Develop focused work products (reports, queries, scripts, analysis, semantic data models and associated documentation), physical data base designs, functional and technical specification [for extracts, loads, queries, scrubbing (cleaning) of incoming data, transformation of data (for output analysis), etc.] Must be able to develop informal and semi-formal end-user training to small groups or one-on-ones.
Ensure compatibility and integration into existing State systems and data sources as appropriate
Work with data designers, modelers, and functional users to develop data analyses for use in the design, development, and implementation of data models, queries and reporting and ETL processes.
Develop requirements and functional specifications for all functional areas of the systems and/or Data Warehouse and reporting needs including evaluation and analysis, design and build, testing and integration, and deployment
Support data provisioning and delivery aspects within Business Intelligence Services and manage and maintain the domain expertise for multiple applications and projects that reside within the Data Warehouse
Work with the client, managers and key business and IT staff to provide data warehouse and ETL consultation services including research, project guidance, implementation recommendations, work plans, and estimated staffing and time frame estimates
Exhibit both technical expertise and business savvy skills
Possess excellent communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
3-5 years relevant .Net integration development, Object Oriented Design and Business Objects Development / Analyst experience in developing Business Objects reports, universes, and dashboards in a production environment is required.
3-5 years programming experience with SQL is required (XML, GJXDM, SharePoint, MS BizTalk and Visual Basic are a plus)
1-3 years of in-depth experience in Business Objects Administration is required.
Experience with more than one relational database technology including: SQL, Oracle, Teradata, or DB2.
The ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to change is required.
Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond to frequent demands of multiple internal customers is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to work comfortably with both technical and business users at all levels within the customer organization is required.
Ability to work as part of a small technical team where each individual is expected to leverage their own unique skills, complementing upon those of the teammates.
Ability to take direction and to also work independently with minimal supervision with regards to dedication, work ethic, and commitment.
Experience with Teradata utilities such as FastLoad, FastLoad, MultiLoad, BTEQ, OleLoad, and TPump is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in computer science or related technical field.
Government (State, Federal) experience is a plus.
Sense of humor is required.
