Position Summary: The Network Analyst I ensures the efficient operation of the Company's data network by monitoring its performance, receiving trouble reports from users, recording error conditions, and isolating and resolving routing problems.



Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field or the equivalent in training and experience.
2.At least two years of Internet operations, data communications networking, systems programming, or other substantive data processing experience which demonstrates a broad understanding of information systems functions and their interrelation or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
3.One year of the required experience must have involved installation, maintenance, and tuning of data communications system software components, and/or LAN/WAN hardware/software, or other hardware/software operating in a networked environment.
4.Experience troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN environment problems to resolution in a multi-platform, multi-tasking environment.




 

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Previous network administration experience or system integration experience in a LAN/WAN environment.
2.Knowledge of routing protocols and telecommunication equipment.
3.Knowledge of multiple computer environments (i.e., DOS, WINDOWS, UNIX).
4.Knowledge of Cisco hardware platform and IOS.
5.Professional certifications such as Novell's CNE, Microsoft's MCSE or Cisco's CCIE.




 

Responsibilities:
1.The Network Analyst I insures the efficient operation of the Company's data network by monitoring its performance, receiving trouble reports from users, recording error conditions, and isolating and resolving routine problems.
2.Document and maintain understandable network troubleshooting procedures to assist the support capabilities of the Internet Help Desk.
3.Serve as a resource for Help Desk Personnel to facilitate early problem detection and resolution. Isolate and resolve routing network service problems referred by the Help Desk.
4.Assist with the installation and testing of new and upgraded data communications facilities such as routers, circuits, modems, multiplexors, etc.
5.Create and maintain accurate problem incident records in order to keep up-to-date network inventory status and to facilitate future problem determination and problem resolution cycles.
6.Maintain inventory list of remote devices, i.e., routers, hubs, switches, etc., for maintenance purposes.
7.Other duties as assigned.
