Network Cable Plant Maintainer

Install, test, maintain, and remove all fiber optic and metallic network and data in-house cables throughout campus wide area network.

Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Requires less than 2 years experience. Candidate must have working knowledge and skills to terminate Cat 5 and 6 twisted pair cable with RJ-45 and IDC connectors in accordance with both EIA 568A and 568B wiring standards; terminate single- and multi-mode fiber with SC and ST connectors; terminate 25 pair twisted pair cable using standard punch down, EIA-530 and EIA 232 cable termination technologies. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders in overhead suspended ceilings and in confined spaces within communication closets and under raised computer room floors.
