Job description:

 

The Network Developer II VMWare will design, implement and maintain network software and hardware environments.  In this role you will act as a consultant to business units on networking requirements, interface with business users to obtain requirements, qualify solutions for the network environment, and manage technology implementations.

 

This Network (Server) Developer position will require a great deal of flexibility, both in background and in skill set.  Though some tasks will require mid to high-level Intel Administration as well as some basic Linux System Administration, the vast majority of the workload will be focused on the Architect, Support and Maintenance of the VMWare Server Infrastructure, Citrix Server, WindowsLinux OS and HP Hardware.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Install, configure, maintain and support VMWare Server Infrastructure, Citrix Server, HP Server Hardware and the Operating Systems on both Intel and Linux platforms, Configure and setup connectivity between web servers, application servers, DB servers and directory servers with the networking environment, Provide third level support for all designated mission-critical servers, including limited application support as requested by the customer, Work with other Server Developers, Server Administrators, vendors, end-users and customers to plan, implement and improve support procedures,Architecture of VMWare Server Infrastructure, Citrix Server and HP Server Hardware on both Intel and Linux platforms as required by client base,Maintain and support internal documentation for systems support, Documentation of any and all supported systems for reference by IT and Administration staff, Mentoring of Server Administrators as required by project and/or workload, and Interface regularly with client base to encourage further partnering on both existing and future projects.

 

 

Technical Skills Required:

 Expertise in architecting, supporting & maintaining VMWare Server Infrastructure. Highly knowledgeable in architecture, supporting & maintaining Citrix Server, HP Server Hardware and the Operating Systems on both Intel and Linux platforms.

 

Qualifications:

 Bachelors or Associates in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Eight (8) years experience with Intel based systems. Five (5) years experience with LAN/WAN technology. Equivalent technical application or systems experience considered.Fundamental knowledge of networking disciplines.Strong project management skills.Fundamental knowledge of hardware and software.Ability to prioritize and manage large sized projects concurrently.Work independently on highly complex assigned tasks and procedures.
