Network Engineer - MC1177

We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Network Engineer with Xacta Corporation, our subsidiary that provides security-centric services and products in the areas of information assurance, secure wireless, and secure messaging. This position is located in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will support NISO/ITA Enterprise Management System.

Responsibilities: provide technical analysis in data network planning, engineering and design; provide analysis for implementation techniques and tools and problems with department users and network administrators; develop uniform operation procedures for the most efficient solutions to network problems; maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs and bridges, gateways, etc. coordinate third party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoots; provide problem determination/resolution based upon personal experience and standard operating procedures, including immediate resolution where possible (including: LAN/WAN/MAN architecture/equipment/applications, audio/video teleconferencing, voice and data transport, session, presentation, application layer integration, traffic engineering and capacity analysis; update/feature configurations of Telecommunications Systems and networks used within DoD by Service Agency with regards to proactive service support; analysis of the type, size, routing, network management, traffic and configuration analysis and Router and Switch Software; assist in the planning and performance of preventative maintenance on network equipment to ensure supportability/sustainability.

Requirements: BA from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years professional experience with a related MA; considered an emerging authority; working knowledge of Cisco, Extreme and Juniper devices. Certifications are considered a plus; Good customer service, communication and writing skills are necessary due to the diverse customer base supported; Active Secret clearance required- prefer Top Secret clearance; Some shift work will be required and deployment to remote locations for break fix activities; CCAN, ENA, JNCIA certifications are desired; The successful candidate will be subject to a Government security investigation, must be a US citizen, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
