Network Engineer MCSE - Server Expert!

Position Description:

Builds/manages Windows servers. Troubleshoots server, database, and application-related problems.  Provides technical expertise for design, performance, and configuration of NIGMS servers. Provides technical leadership in the integration and test of various essential and "high visibility" projects.  Performs upgrades, installations, and required maintenance during maintenance weekends (monthly). Assists in all operations, systems development, and deployment/troubleshooting activities.  Writes Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and systems configuration management documentation (Systems Change Requests, Change Proposals, and Deployment Readiness Reviews).  Responsible for project development, deployment, and system integration activities. Works independently, reports directly to the Project Manager and under the technical direction of the Technical Lead.  May be assigned other projects and responsibilities based on capability. Works closely with security personnel to ensure security policies are implemented properly.

 

Requirements:

This position requires 8 years of experience in an IT environment.  Technical experience to include:

Microsoft Clustering, Veritas Backup Exec, Active Directory, Windows Server 2000/2003, HP Servers, and SCSI RAID.

Ability to troubleshoot network issues (DNS, DHCP, etc.).

Must have excellent technical writing skills. Must be detail-oriented.

Desired Skills: HP Storage Works SAN, HP Library and Tape Systems, SMS, ePolicy Orchestrator, MOM, OpenText LiveLink, SharePoint, and Microsoft IIS server 5.x/6.x
