Network Infrastructure Architect
Provider of Satellite Entertainment programmer to U.S households
Responsible for the development, clarification, and communication of all network architectural principles, patterns, guidelines, and standards. Specifically, in the areas of IP Networks with Wide-area connectivity, IP Telephony applications, call center applications and secured access that will provide scalable and highly available infrastructure for mission critical applications
- Identify impacts and work to resolve conflicts with the enterprise infrastructure support group and application development teams
- Work in conjunction with the aligned support or application area, develop and maintain a network architecture plan that is aligned with business strategy and planning.
- Identify all non-aligned architectural proposals and associated risks and communicates the risks effectively to the Enterprise architecture groups and work with IT security to insure that all related security concerns and policies are coordinated and implemented.
- Identify, research, evaluate and recommend network related tools and emerging network technologies and review their impacts with enterprise infrastructure support group.
- Maintain knowledge of network architecture technologies through interaction and discussions with industry peers, vendors, and consultants and apply knowledge in the continued development and enhancement of network architecture plans
- Work independently with minimal supervision and experience in managing third-party vendor relationships
- This position requires strong technical vision and experience in IP convergent technologies, excellent communications, planning, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to engage and influence external teams in a fast growing call center environment
- Qualified candidate will likely have an advanced degree in Computer Science, mathematics, engineering, or related. Ideal candidate will have Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) or other premiere certifications in network routing topology and voice telephony
- Technical Skills Required: Cisco Routers, switches, PIX firewalls, HP OpenView, Concord, Cisco ICM, Avaya voice switch, TCP/IP, VPN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, CoS/QoS, VoIP, IVR, CTI, TDM, RSA SecureID, and LDAP
