Network Manager

The department managed by the position provides customer support for network engineering designs, lab certification testing of customer products and Tier III support for Juniper routers for customer networks.  Department is responsible for writing whitepapers in response to customer requirements/interest in new technologies/products offered by Verizon Business in support of customer networks. Candidate provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals, becoming actively involved to meet schedules and/or to resolve problems. Candidate prepares and delivers customer briefings/presentations/whitepapers on technical issues. Subordinates include mid-to-high level exempt employees. Position requires an individual with a strong technical background in network engineering, technical knowledge of Verizon Business products and direct experience with Verizon Business' global IP network is preferred. Candidate will need to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Candidate ensures budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met. Candidate must have good writing skills with experience in documenting technical work.

 

Job Qualifications/Required Skills:

 

Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with other departments as well as customers and strong presentation skills to present complex technical information in a manner appropriate for different audiences. Candidate regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 9-11 years supervisory experience. Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a TS security clearance.
