Network Operations Technician 3rd Shift

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with the Network Operations Center monitoring and reporting tools to provide top-quality support services to the MTM customer base.

- Communicate information to customers in a timely, courteous and professional manner.

- Obtain Technical Certifications through Cisco, Sun, Veritas and the like.

- Understand and use internetworking troubleshooting skills and tools.

- Handle critical network events in a professional manner and in accordance with established procedures.

- Meet Individual Goals set forth by Department Manager

- Maintain and Develop Technical Knowledge via Web Based Training

- Take an active role in updating and maintaining documentation (procedures, run books, request for change forms, etc).

- Proven ability to handle internal and external escalation issues, including trouble ticketing, troubleshooting and notification.

REQUIREMENTS

- 1 to 2 years of experience including systems administration, network operations center, technical support, network administration.

- TCP/IP experience, including IP addressing, subnet masking and the basics of IP routing.

- Experience with any of the following: Windows NT, W2K, Solaris, Linux, and Cisco IOS.

- Ability to multi-task many requests in an organized and timely manner.

- Proven excellence in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer support/service.

- Maintain a professional level of follow up and attention to detail.

- Superior Organizational skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

- Associates degree min, Bachelors preferred.

- 1+ years related experience with focus on Technical support.

- Solaris or Windows Certifications a plus.

- CCNA or CCDA Certifications a plus.
