Job description:

 

The Network Security Developer II is responsible the overall integration of the global enterprise-wide security infrastructure including participation in planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the company?s network security systems.  In this role you will act as a consultant to business units on networking requirements, interface with business users to obtain requirements, qualify solutions for the network environment, and manage technology implementations.  This role will require you to act as a subject matter expert for Checkpoint Firewall architecture, design network security solutions in accordance with global standards and regional best practices, manage all aspects of network security project implementation (resource coordination, procurement, etc.) and provide Level 3 problem management support.  This position will also require you to assume lead roles in implementing network security solutions, completing required site documentation, providing direction and interfacing with the organizations responsible for service delivery.

 

Technical Skills Required:

 

?  Direct experience and expert knowledge with CheckPoint N.G. firewall solutions.

?  Hands on technical responsibilities for implementing Firewall and IPS and IDS solutions.

?  Expert knowledge of Checkpoint NG Firewall Systems, including advanced functionality (VRRP, IP-Clustering and Provider-1).

?  Provide administration and support of CheckPoint firewalls - 5.0.

?  Provide support for Internet services and related systems.

?  Provide support for all security components within the environment.

?  Provide support for Citrix systems and related security components.

?  Provide support for web-based security ? Content Filtering Solutions.

?  Provide support for network related systems - DNS, IP routing, DHCP, etc.

?  Strong understanding of Internet routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).

?  Strong understanding of enterprise IDS and IPS systems.

?  Corporate level/large infrastructure experience required, with adept skill in the intricacies of how firewalls and IDS / IPS devices interact and link into overall infrastructures.

?  Understanding of heuristic/behavioral-based network security systems.

?  Working knowledge of network and application vulnerability scanners.

?  Thorough knowledge of the OSI protocol stack, and experience with routing and bridging technology is essential.

?  Excellent networking skills, with basic hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.

?  Working knowledge of network and security troubleshooting tools (Network General Sniffer, Ethereal and tcpdump).

?  Strong aptitude on security procedures, compliance issues.

?  Familiarity with desktop operating systems and office automation applications.

?  eCommerce experience a must.

?  UNIX (or Linux) Systems Administration skills a plus.

?  Recognition as a technical resource within the work group; knowledge of multiple platforms, and multiple network protocols; and extensive and specialized technical knowledge in Support Systems.

 

 

Qualifications:

 Bachelors of Information Technology, Network Security Training or other related degree or equivalent work experience.Minimum of five (5) years experience developing/implementing network solutions.Checkpoint N.G./certification also highly desirable.CISSP would be a plus.Minimum of eight (8) years as a senior network security engineer in a large global enterprise environment.Able to work in teams and independently.Able to manage multiple priorities and time.Strong written and oral communication skills; Excellent customer service skills; strong influence skills and strong organizational skills.Fundamental knowledge of networking disciplines and hardware and software. Strong project management skills.
