This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Hospital Information Systems in an ASP environment. Ensures that problem conditions encountered in applications, systems or procedures are rectified and fully documented or promptly escalated to vendors or other support units to cause appropriate recovery and resolution activity that will provide maximum availability of user services.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Installation, configuration and management of: Windows servers, AD Domains, Citrix Farms, SQL Databases, VM Slices and Blade servers.

-Routine maintenance: OS/Application patching and upgrades, Hardware upgrades, system health checks. Follows change control procedures.

-Problem resolution: Works with problem tickets, application developers and clients to identify root cause and resolve issues.

-Documentation: documents resolutions and maintains written procedures. Responsible for gathering statistics for management reporting.

-Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.

-Trains other employees on system.



SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

-Experience with VMWare.

-Experience with SQL

-Experience with Blade Centers

-MCSE




MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

-2+ years experience in Windows systems administration

-Hands on experience and understanding of Windows Server 2000, and 2003, ADS, and Citrix.

-Requires the knowledge and ability to analyze, document, and implement solutions to routine system processing problems/opportunities/changes. Awareness of problem queue and problem management relating to supported application, system and process components.

-Strong oral and written skills are required due to high degree of documentation and communication to clients.

-Interpersonal skills/customer service skills are essential as this position deals with all levels of personnel.

-Ability to work well in team activities. Should consistently provide productive and positive participation in team efforts.

-Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple problems/tasks under tight timelines.

-Ability to prioritize workload with limited supervision. Flexible to meet and support the changing business needs.




EDUCATION:

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
